Our company has grown from someone's hobby in 1965 to one of the largest distributors of outdoor and shooting sports products in the nation.

Its first location was in the garage of a small home supplying clay targets to trap shooting clubs. As the business grew, three trucks were on the road constantly supplying customers who were mostly hobbyists. The company saw increased growth through the 70's. During this period, the scope of operations was moving from a regional to a national presence and the company was becoming better known in the industry.

In the early 80's the company was purchased by a group headed by John Berry from Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Berry was President of L.M. Berry and Company, an international Yellow Pages advertising company founded by his father, Loren Murphy Berry, in 1910. Loren Berry is widely regarded as the "founder" of the Yellow Pages.

During the mid to late 80's the company began to significantly expand the business. In autumn of 1988, the company made a large commitment to improved technology when it purchased one of the first IBM AS/400 computers. We were the first distributor in Ohio to receive an AS/400 and the first company in the nation to convert from a non-IBM platform to the new AS/400 system.

The 90's brought expansion. We opened our first regional office in 1990 in Philadelphia. The Sacramento and Atlanta offices were added in 1991 to complete a nationwide presence. The regional approach to account management significantly bolstered service levels to our customers. "Regional experts", knowledgeable in regional hunting seasons and market conditions, are able to take a consultative approach to servicing our customers. As a consultant, our Sales Professionals can help our customers grow and increase the profitability of their business.

In 1996, AcuSport purchased Go Sportmen's Supply to strengthen our presence in the western United States. Go Sportmen's Supply was headquartered in Billings, Montana with a regional office in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Go Sportmen's Supply has been fully integrated under the AcuSport name creating one of the largest shooting sports distributors in the nation.

Today, AcuSport continues to be a leader in the shooting sports industry. We are committed to our customers through exceptional dealer service and support for our industry. This dedication continues to be the foundation of our business and part of our company history.
